In Wesselburenerkoog (Dithmarschen district) you stay right by the North Sea dyke. The private holiday-home settlement is quiet, friendly and ideal for walking, cycling and relaxing. Within walking distance: the grassy bathing spot, the Eidersperrwerk barrage and the Katinger Watt.
Location & surroundings
Wesselburenerkoog by the Wadden Sea — a natural beach 150 m away, getting here, shopping, restaurants and excursions nearby.
Wesselburener Koog
The Wesselburener Koog is the north-westernmost corner of the Dithmarschen district, right by the embankment of the Eider estuary (Katinger Watt). From our house you can see the fork in the dyke and reach it within a few minutes. North of the Eider (the Eidersperrwerk barrage) Nordfriesland begins.
The holiday-home settlement consists predominantly of privately used houses; some are let – including our Huus Eiderente. A friendly “Moin Moin” is part of life here.
Swimming and sunbathing
You can swim and sunbathe at the house (terrace/lawn) or at the natural bathing spot in front of the dyke. There is a lawn for sunbathing, a playground, steps down to the mudflats (into the water at high tide) as well as showers – use is free of charge for you. You will find pure sandy beaches in Büsum and above all in St. Peter-Ording (Böhl, Dorf, Bad, Ording).
For days with dreich weather, the Dünentherme thermal baths in St. Peter-Ording, the Piratenmeer in Büsum as well as the swimming pool in Heide are good options. There is also an open-air pool in Wesselburen.
